For years, Volkswagen has been a major sponsor of the Sydney Swans and as part of the pre-game entertainment, has offered fans the chance to appear on the big screen at each home game.

In the hours leading up to first bounce, VW park the latest model outside the SCG to allow fans to check out the car’s features and jump into the back seats to sing the Sydney Swans theme song. We film every song completed and then upload them to the Volkswagen FanZone YouTube channel.

The best and most entertaining singers from that game are then chosen and compiled into an edited video that is projected on the big screen at the SCG during half-time.

Time is critical in executing this activation. We film for three hours prior to first bounce and editing all videos (including the half-time video) must be completed, uploaded and delivered an hour after bounce.

It’s a pressure cooker environment but one that we have relished having created close to 500 videos over the 11 rounds of AFL competition.
